Basic Sign Language Training Programs

Basic Sign language training programs, help deaf people to meet the great needs of social services by training the community (Nurses, teachers, health community workers, public police transporters, local leaders and church Leaders) in the basic sign language. From 2017-2018 community health workers, nurses, school teachers, headteachers, local leaders, youth With hearing impairments, police and church leaders were taught the basic sign language. This was done for three months each year. Friends of handicap in Rwanda also plans over the next three years to train five people in sign language in each of the 30 Districts of Rwanda to help deaf people achieve better access to social services.
